Residential Roofing in Mohegan Lake
Most of our Mohegan Lake work is residential. The housing stock splits between older lake cottages and 1980s-90s colonials, and each has its own roof profile. Cottages tend to have low-slope porch roofs and original decking that needs attention. Colonials have steep pitches, multiple dormers, and full attic ventilation systems. Homeowners here care about three things: stopping leaks, keeping the attic dry, and not overpaying for a roof that still has life left. We inspect first, tell you what can wait, and only recommend a replacement when the roof is actually at the end of its life.
- Full roof replacement — We tear off the old shingles, replace any rotted decking, and install a new GAF or Owens Corning system with ice and water shield, drip edge, and ridge vent. Most Mohegan Lake colonials are done in one to two days, and we clean the yard with a magnetic sweep before we leave.
- Leak repair and flashing — A leak around a chimney or dormer is the most common call we get in Mohegan Lake. We trace it with a hose test, replace the flashing rather than caulk it, and seal the repair with roofing cement. You get photos of the work and a dry ceiling.
- Storm damage response — After a nor'easter, we tarp the roof the same day and document the damage for your insurance claim. We replace missing shingles, re-nail lifted ones, and check the ridge cap. Most storm repairs in Mohegan Lake are finished within a week of the claim clearing.
- Roof maintenance plans — Our Mohegan Lake maintenance plan covers a spring and fall visit: gutter clearing, flashing inspection, shingle check, and a moss treatment on lake-facing slopes. It adds years to a roof and catches small problems before they become leaks. We schedule it around your calendar.
